Peak Design raises $218,150 from travel pod launch

Peak Design Travel Tripod

Last month, Peak Design launched its Travel Tripod over a four day period. As part of this launch, Peak Design CEO, Peter Dering, announced the brand would donate 100% of the profits from every single Travel Tripod sold (direct + wholesale) to the CDC Foundation & Climate Neutral—organizations whose mission is to confront separate yet concurrent global disasters. The total donated was $218,150.

Below is a final tally of units sold and the amount of funds generated and donated as a result of the launch:

Total # of Travel Tripod Units Sold

  • Total: 2,265
  • Carbon Fiber: 1,192
  • Aluminum Alloy: 1,073

Average Profit per Tripod Sold

Funds Generated per Travel Tripod Unit

  • 1,192 (CF Travel Tripods) X $120 (average profit per unit) = $143,040
  • 1,073 (AA Travel Tripods) X $90 (average profit per unit) = $75,110

Total Funds Generated – $218,150

  • Funds donated to CDC Foundation: $109,075
  • Funds donated to Climate Neutral: $109,075

Best,
